The Narratio Fellowship is a collaboration between Narratio, Syracuse University and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The program brings refugee artists together with resettled refugee youth Fellows to explore and represent the full range of their own experiences and those of their communities through various modes of artistic expression and delivery. Through the program, participants learn how to share their stories across contexts and audiences, and receive media training, leadership development, and mentorship. The month-long program utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to self-expression which includes workshops, guest speakers, and site visits, culminating in a week-long trip to New York City and a performance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, meetings at the United Nations, Squarespace, and The New York Times.

Intertwined Journeys is a collaboration between the Narratio Fellowship and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Ancient Near East Department. The project features poetry performances by resettled refugee youth, and a series of local and national photography and writing exhibits. Intertwined Journeys highlights the stories around intertwined journeys of objects, people, and cultures from homelands to reimagined futures.

Since the program’s launch in July 2019, the Fellows have participated in eight performances locally and on the national stage, including at the United Nations, Christie’s New York, and the Syracuse Community Folk Art Center (CFAC).
